Once on the summit plateau, follow the western or eastern cliffside paths clinging to the edge of vertical rock faces. Choosing Your Route: Line A vs Line B
When booking Tianmen Mountain tickets, you must choose between three routing options:
- Line A (Recommended): Cable car up from the city center to the summit plateau, explore the cliff walkways, take the 7-tier interior mountain escalators down to Heaven’s Gate cave, descend the 999 stone steps, and take the shuttle bus down the 99-Bend winding road.
- Line B: Reverse of Line A (Bus up the winding road, climb up Heaven’s Gate, take escalators to summit, and cable car down into the city). Line A is generally less physically demanding as you descend the 999 steps rather than climbing them.
